MirraChrome represents the latest in Reflective Paint Coating Technology. It's near microscopic particle content provides superior surface orientation. This particle alignment is the key to MirraChrome's shine. While many attempts have been made by others to achieve a "chrome paint" no one has come close. Through a rigorous development process we have established the specific process and coatings to allow MirraChrome to achieve remarkable brilliance and be clearcoated. That's right, we said clearcoated. Alsa's MirraChrome can be topcoated with the recommended Lightning Clear then a high quality automotive grade poly-urethane clearcoat such as Alsa's Speed Clear without loosing its true chrome look. |

MirraChrome can be applied with almost any type of spray equipment from airbrushes to full size HVLP guns. (We recommend Iwata's LPH50 detail gun.) MirraChrome comes ready to spray meaning no reducers or hardeners, just pour it in your gun and spray, when you're finished simply pour it back into it's container to use later. |

MirraChrome is applied using standard HVLP spray guns or Air Brushes. It is an easy and forgiving paint to work with, as long as you apply it with heavy air and a light volume of paint coming out of the gun, so that you just "mist" it over the surface until you have an even deposition. However, the key to achieving the highest mirror-like reflectivity lies in the surface preparation of the object you are painting.
MirraChrome will create a mirror finish as long as your surface is as smooth as glass.
Step 1 - Apply Alsa Jet Black Stylin Basecoat's ASB-13.
Step 2 - Allow the basecoat to fully dry 15-30 minutes. You are now ready to apply the Lightning Clear (ALC-770). If your surface already has a glass like sheen, move on to Step 3.
Step 3 - Allow the Lightning Clear to fully dry. (Air dry 24 hours / Bake 140° F for 30 minutes)
Step 4 - Begin applying MirraChrome (MC-101) using a dusting effect, a very small volume of material with a substantial amount of air. If you are using an HVLP gun you should be around 20 psi otherwise use whatever the recommended air pressure is for your gun, remembering to keep the material volume very low. Continue applying the MirraChrome until desired effect is achieved.
Step 5 - Allow the MirraChrome to air dry. (Air dry 30 minutes / Bake 140° F for 15 minutes)
Step 6 - Use a very soft lint-free cloth and carefully wash with water to remove all of the excess "dust" from the surface. Once you complete this step you will notice a drastic improvement in the final appearance.
Step 7 - Be sure all moisture is removed prior to moving on to Step 8. (We recommend Baking at 140° F for 15 minutes)
Step 8 - Apply the Lightning Clear to the MirraChrome and allow to air dry. (Air dry 30 minutes / Bake 140° F for 15 minutes) before moving on to Step 9.
Step 9 - If you are applying this to a vehicle or other object that will be handle frequently or exposed to the elements you will now want to apply Speed Clear (optional).
Step 1 - Apply Alsa Jet Black Stylin Basecoat (ASB-13).
Step 2 - Allow the basecoat to fully dry 15-30 minutes. You are now ready to apply the topcoat.
NOTE: If your surface already has a glass like sheen, move on to Step 4.
Step 3 - If you are using the Lightning Clear (ALC-770) apply 1 to 2 wet coats to achieve a glass like sheen. Allow the Lightning Clear to fully dry. (Air dry 24 hours / Bake 140° F for 30 minutes)
If using Speed Clear (SC-1230) you will apply 2 coats then allow to dry. (Air dry 4 hours / Bake 140° F for 1 hour)
NOTE: As Speed Clear is a 2K clearcoat (requiring mixing with hardener) you must wait 7-10 days for all of the tail solvents to evaporate before you can proceed to Step 4.
If you cannot wait the 7-10 days then we recommend using Lightning Clear instead of the Speed Clear to topcoat the black basecoat.
You can now sand and buff if necessary to remove any surface imperfections, you will need to be sure to remove all compounds and wax residues with rubbing alcohol to insure a streak-free surface prior to applying the MirraChrome.
Step 8 - You will now apply the Lightning Clear to the MirraChrome to "lock it down" and allow to dry. (Air dry 30 minutes / Bake 140° F for 15 minutes)
Step 9 - If you are applying this to a vehicle or other object that will be handle frequently or exposed to the elements you will now want to apply Speed Clear (optional).
Step 10 - Apply the Speed Clear and allow to dry. (Air dry 4 hours / Bake 140° F for 1 hour)

Q. What is MirraChrome?
A. MirraChrome is a acetone/alcohol based coating which when applied over a surface as smooth as glass gives you a mirror like reflection 95-98% that of true chrome.
Q. What do you use to apply MirraChrome?
A. MirraChrome can be applied using standard spray equipment however we recommend using an LPH50 spray gun with 1.0 tip size or a detail gun.
Q. Can MirraChrome take high heat?
A. Yes MirraChrome itself can take the heat however the exact range would be determined by the basecoat and topcoats resistance to heat. For example if you were to apply MirraChrome over a powdercoat as a base then top it with another coat of powder clear you could attain extremely high heat resistance.
Q. Is MirraChrome conductive?
A. Due to the high level of aluminum content MirraChrome left un-topcoated in theory could be conductive, however once topcoated with a poly-urethane clear it is less likely to be able to conduct current.
Q. How can MirraChrome have adhesion if you are putting it over a polished clearcoat?
A. MirraChrome contains a self-etching solvent which allows it to bite into the clearcoat giving great inner-layer adhesion when you apply the final topcoat.
Q. How long does it take to dry?
A. MirraChrome is dry to the touch almost instantaneously but should be left until at least the next day before your final clear is applied to allow any remaining tail solvents to fully evaporate.
Q. Will any clearcoat work over/under MirraChrome?
A. Almost any poly-urethane clear can go over MirraChrome, however we recommend using Alsa Clear for best results, as a few customers have reported a grey or haziness appearing when topcoated with their own clears.
Q. Is MirraChrome durable?
A. MirraChrome is as durable as the final clearcoat you apply. Meaning if you have put 3 or more good coats of poly-urethane clear over the top it is completely resistant to weather as well as scratching. If you should scratch the clear simply sand and buff it away as you would any other finished paint job.
